Attorney Suzette Peychaud Bagneris
The managing attorney of Bagneris Law Firm is Suzette Bagneris. Ms. Bagneris was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a graduate of St. Frances Cabrini Elementary School, Ursuline Academy, Loyola University of New Orleans, and Loyola Law School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications and graduated from Loyola, magna cum laude. Ms. Bagneris attended Loyola Law School on a full academic scholarship and won awards for oral advocacy in the National Frederick Douglass moot court competition.
Ms. Bagneris is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, federal courts in Louisiana and Texas, and all Louisiana state courts.
She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, Louis Martinet Society, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Gambit Weekly Magazine designated Ms. Bagneris as a "40 under 40" Honoree in October 2000 for her outstanding accomplishments in the legal field. Kingfish Magazine designated her as a "top female attorney and leader in the industry making a name for herself both in the legal world and the local community" in December 2002.
Among her most notable cases are the Gaylord Chemical Release in Bogalusa, Louisiana, where she was court appointed to represent 16,000 persons in a class action involving the release of nitrogen textroxide; Mary Self vs. Illinois Central Railroad, where she was court appointed to represent 3,000 people in a class action involving a train derailment in Kentwood, Louisiana; Casey Billieson vs. Housing Authority of New Orleans, where she was court appointed to represent all lead poisoned children in the City of New Orleans who resided in public housing units; and John Johnson vs. The Orleans Parish School Board, where she was court appointed to represent 10,000 people who lived in a neighborhood built atop a former waste dump that was designated as an EPA Superfund Site.
Ms. Bagneris is married to Attorney Emile A. Bagneris, III, and together they have three wonderful children.
